Here is a piece of scheduling reality from a family that has done this since 2017: the washing season does not fade out, it stops. Once the cold settles in the equipment gets winterized, and that is that until spring. Every fall, some of the calls we take are from people who waited two weeks too long.
The growth does not take winter off
The algae on the north wall and the streaks on the gutters are alive, and winter does not kill them. Rooted growth waits under the snow and picks up where it left off, a season further along. Wash in fall and winter lands on a dead, rinsed-clean wall instead of a living head start.
Salt lands on whatever you leave there
We covered this in the driveway post: winter salt sits in dirty, open pores and helps the surface flake, which is the pitting you see on older slabs. Concrete washed in fall is tighter and cleaner when the first salt goes down. The cheapest driveway repair is still not needing one.
The house is clean for the months people actually see it
Family photos, Thanksgiving guests, holiday lights. If the lights go up over algae streaks, the streaks are part of the display until March. A fall wash means the house spends the most photographed months of the year clean.
When the season ends
We keep working into November when the weather cooperates, and the machine gets winterized the moment it stops cooperating. If the wash is on your list this year, the safe version of later is booking the date now.
